Online IGCSE tuition in Sarawak

Sarawak is big, and a student in Kapit or Lawas needs no city address to study well.

Students in Sarawak can take online one-to-one Cambridge IGCSE tuition from wherever they live in the state. We are a team of teachers, and an experienced teacher is assigned to each student after a WhatsApp enquiry. The first step is a paid one-hour trial lesson, at the assigned teacher’s confirmed rate, starting from RM80.

Is this tuition fully online in Sarawak?

Yes. Every lesson happens on a device you already have, with a teacher who can see your working.

For you this means the town you live in does not limit the teacher you can study with. It also means travel time does not eat into your study week. Our Malaysia coverage page explains the same approach for every state.

Which parts of Sarawak can enquire?

Any of them. The towns most students name are Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Samarahan, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Kapit, Mukah, Betong, Limbang, Lawas. Our records also cover the districts of Kuching, Bau, Lundu, Samarahan, Serian, Simunjan, Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, Betong, Saratok, Sarikei, Maradong, Daro, Julau, Sibu, Dalat, Mukah, Kanowit, Bintulu, Tatau, Kapit, Song, Belaga, Miri, Marudi, Limbang, Lawas, Matu, Asajaya, Pakan, Selangau, Tebedu, Pusa, Kabong, Tanjung Manis, Sebauh, Bukit Mabong, Subis, Beluru, Telang Usan.

Sarawak runs from the coast at Kuching and Bintulu to Miri in the north and inland places such as Kapit and Belaga. That spread is exactly why an online lesson suits the state: the teacher’s location and yours no longer matter.

What should I prepare for lessons from Sarawak?

Preparation is mostly about a steady connection and a quiet hour. Try these before the trial.

  1. Run a video call with a friend or relative at the hour you plan to study, not at a quieter time of day.
  2. Sit near the router, or use a wired connection if your device allows it.
  3. Keep a phone with mobile data charged, so you can switch if the home line drops.
  4. Have paper, a pen and your school notes ready for subjects where you write out working.
  5. Tell the teacher if your connection is unreliable so you can agree a plan together.

Students in interior districts may find that connection quality changes through the day. Check it yourself at the lesson hour, and raise it early rather than halfway through a topic.

How does scheduling work with Sarawak school life?

Sarawak shares Malaysian time with the Peninsula, so a 4 pm lesson is 4 pm on both sides. You and your teacher agree lesson times directly after the trial, around school hours, homework and family commitments.

Sarawak also observes its own state holidays on top of national ones, such as Gawai Dayak. Mention these when you plan lessons, so that a revision week does not collide with a festival or a long journey home.

What should I ask my own exam centre?

Registration, entry, results and any access arrangements belong to your exam centre and Cambridge, so ask them directly. Useful questions for a student in Sarawak:

  • Which Cambridge IGCSE subjects and syllabus codes does the centre enter students for?
  • What are the registration deadlines and fees for private candidates, if you are not at a school that enters you?
  • Where will I sit each paper, and how far is that venue from home?
  • When do practical or coursework components, if your subject has them, take place?

The exam guide explains how a Cambridge entry works in general, and the Cambridge website is the place to confirm the current syllabus for your year.

Which subjects can I enquire about?

Choose the subject page that matches your need and read what individual teaching can address.

How do I start?

Send a WhatsApp enquiry with your subject, your level and the town you study from. A teacher is assigned, the rate is confirmed before the lesson, and the paid one-hour trial follows.

Other fees and schedules are agreed with the teacher afterwards. Read how it works and the trial details first if you want the full sequence, or see all subjects.

Questions people ask

Do you have a centre in Kuching or Miri?

The service is online only. A student in Kuching, Miri, Sibu or Bintulu has the same online lesson as a student in a small town like Song or Tatau.

Is the lesson time the same in Sarawak?

Sarawak uses Malaysian time, the same clock as Kuala Lumpur, so there is no time difference to calculate. You and the teacher agree lesson times around school, co-curricular activities and your other commitments.

What if my internet is weak at home?

Test your connection at the time you plan to study, then tell the teacher before the trial. A lesson that depends on video may need a fallback plan, such as audio with shared notes, which you can agree directly with the teacher.

Who registers me for the IGCSE exam in Sarawak?

Your exam centre does, not us. Ask the centre for its entry deadlines, fees, the papers and options available to your school route, and where your papers will be sat.
