We teach Cambridge IGCSE Accounting online, one to one, to students anywhere in Malaysia. After your enquiry we assign an experienced teacher to you, and you begin with a paid one-hour trial, starting from RM80. The exact rate is the assigned teacher’s confirmed rate, and we tell you before the lesson.

The trial is a real taught class, not a consultation call. Fees, schedules and any ongoing arrangement are agreed directly between you and the teacher after the trial. Our service has helped 9,000+ students across all subjects, and Accounting is taught the same way: from your own work.

Who does this tuition suit?

Accounting is a subject where small misunderstandings compound. A wrong entry in one chapter becomes a wrong figure three chapters later. One-to-one teaching suits students in situations like these:

  • You follow the example in class but freeze on a blank ledger. You can copy the method, yet you are not sure which account to debit when the transaction is worded differently.
  • Your trial balance agrees but the marks are still lost. The totals match, so you assume the entries are right, and the marker finds wrong accounts or reversed sides.
  • Adjustments feel like a separate rulebook. Accruals, prepayments, depreciation and allowances for receivables seem to be rules to memorise rather than one idea about timing.
  • You balance the statement by forcing a figure. When the statement of financial position does not agree, you adjust something until it does.
  • You are moving to a harder topic. Control accounts, partnership or company accounting, manufacturing accounts or incomplete records are starting, and the foundations are shaky.
  • You are a parent who can see the hours but not the progress. Your child practises regularly, and the same type of mistake keeps coming back.

If you are entering a new school year or re-sitting, tell us your exam year and what you remember of the last paper. That helps the teacher decide where to begin.

What can one-to-one teaching address in Accounting?

A teacher can see your working line by line and ask why you wrote it. That is the main advantage of individual teaching. Below is an original example of how this looks, using a small transaction set and an error that a trial balance would not catch.

A teaching example: the entry that balances but is wrong

Suppose a small shop has these three transactions:

  1. Bought goods for resale on credit from Lim Trading, RM600.
  2. Paid shop rent by cheque, RM200.
  3. Sold goods on credit to Aminah, RM450.

A student writes the following entries.

TransactionStudent’s debitStudent’s credit
1. Goods bought on creditPurchases RM600Cash RM600
2. Rent paidCash RM200Rent RM200
3. Goods sold on creditTrade receivables RM450Sales RM450

Every line has equal debit and credit, so a trial balance would still agree. Yet two of the three entries are wrong, and the teacher’s questions are what expose it.

Transaction 1. The teacher asks: “Did any cash leave the business?” The answer is no, because the goods were bought on credit. So the credit cannot be Cash. The business now owes Lim RM600, which is a trade payable. The correct entry is debit Purchases RM600, credit Trade payables RM600. The debit was right; only the credit was wrong.

Transaction 2. The teacher asks: “Is rent an expense or a gain? Did cash come in or go out?” Cash went out, so Cash is credited. Rent is an expense, so it is debited. The student reversed both sides. The correct entry is debit Rent RM200, credit Cash RM200.

Transaction 3. This one is right. Trade receivables increases, which is a debit, and Sales increases, which is a credit.

The teacher does not stop at the correction.

They ask the student to explain the effect of the original error in words. With the reversed rent entry, cash is overstated by RM400 compared with the correct position (RM200 received that never happened, instead of RM200 paid), and the rent expense is shown as a negative RM200 instead of a positive RM200. To correct it you would post debit Rent RM400, credit Cash RM400, because the wrong entry has to be undone (RM200) and the right entry made (RM200).

This is the kind of reasoning that makes adjustments and correction of errors feel less like rules. You can rehearse a similar idea yourself in the double-entry lessons and the correcting errors module, and try the double-entry and ledger trainer.

What individual teaching does not do

Honest limits matter.

A teacher cannot do the practice for you, and the lesson does not replace your own writing of entries under time pressure. We do not promise a particular grade. For school-based work or anything that must be your own, the teacher explains concepts and permissible preparation, and your work stays yours.

How does a lesson usually work?

Every student is different, so the teacher adapts. A typical paid trial hour has a clear shape.

  1. Start from your work. You share a recent question, a mark scheme comparison or a topic that keeps failing. If you have nothing ready, the teacher sets a short original transaction set.
  2. Find the exact line. The teacher asks you to say what each entry does to the business, which reveals where the reasoning changes.
  3. Rebuild with a fresh example. A new transaction set tests the repaired idea on different wording.
  4. Decide the next focus. The hour ends with what to practise before the next lesson, if you continue.

You can prepare with the one-hour trial agenda builder, and after the trial the post-trial reflection guide helps you decide what to do next.

How do enquiry, assignment and the trial work?

  1. Enquire on WhatsApp. Tell us the subject, your exam year, your level and what confuses you. We use WhatsApp only for enquiries.
  2. We assign an experienced teacher. We do not offer a list to choose from. We use your details to assign a teacher.
  3. The trial rate is confirmed. The paid one-hour trial starts from RM80, and we tell you the assigned teacher’s exact rate before the lesson.
  4. You attend the trial online. You need a device, stable internet and your exercise book or notes.
  5. After the trial you and the teacher agree what comes next. Later fees, schedule and support are arranged directly between you.

See how the whole process looks on how it works and the trial page.

Will the teacher explain why an entry is needed?

This is the concern we hear most often from Accounting students, and it is a fair one. Some help in Accounting is just “make the figure agree.” That can produce a correct-looking statement and a student who is no better prepared for the next question.

Our teachers work the other way round. They start from what happened in the business: a sale, a purchase, a payment, a year-end adjustment. Then they ask which accounts changed and which side.

Only at the end do they check that the totals agree. If you can explain the why in your own words, the final figures follow more reliably.

The paid trial is a direct way to judge this yourself, because you will see how the teacher responds to your own entries.

How does Accounting learning fit together?

Our Accounting learning guide sets out the topic map in a study order. You might begin with the accounting model and transactions, move through double-entry foundations and the trial balance and error limits, then into adjustments such as accruals and prepayments and depreciation and asset disposal.

If you are stuck on one specific pattern, these help pages may describe your situation:

For your own practice, try the Accounting original practice set. If you are still deciding whether tuition makes sense, read considering Accounting tuition, and to get the most from a first lesson see choosing a useful lesson focus.

Which syllabus code and exam year apply to you?

Cambridge IGCSE Accounting has the code 0452. The content and assessment can change between exam years, so the right starting point is your school’s paperwork and the current syllabus on the Cambridge subject page. Use the syllabus and exam-year navigator and the 0452 code guide to organise what to check.

We are not an exam centre. Your school or exam centre handles registration, entry, results and access arrangements, and Cambridge sets the syllabus. If you are unsure which exam series you are entered for, ask your centre.

Is one-to-one Accounting tuition the right step for you?

It may be, if the same entries or adjustments go wrong after you have corrected them. It may not yet be needed if you have not tried the original practice, or if you only need a few past-paper checks. Self-study with a clear study route can be enough, and our learning guide is free to use.

When you are ready to see what it feels like, enquire on WhatsApp and ask for the paid one-hour Accounting trial. The teacher will begin with your own work.

Questions people ask

What does the paid one-hour trial cost?

The trial is a taught, paid class starting from RM80. The exact rate is the assigned teacher's rate, and we confirm it with you before the lesson. Fees, schedules and any ongoing arrangement are then agreed directly between you and the teacher after the trial.

Will the teacher explain why an entry is needed, or just make the figures balance?

The lesson starts from your own entries. The teacher asks what each transaction did to the business, which accounts it touched and why. Balancing is treated as a check, not as the aim, because a trial balance can agree while the entries are still wrong.

Can I choose my teacher?

We assign an experienced teacher to you after your enquiry, using what you tell us about your syllabus code, level and sticking points. The trial is where you see whether their way of explaining suits you. After the trial you and the teacher discuss what comes next.

Is this suitable if I am already doing reasonably well in Accounting?

It can be, if a few topics such as adjustments or control accounts still cost you marks. If your results are steady and you can trace and fix your own errors, self-study with original practice may be enough for now. Ask yourself whether the same mistakes return after correction.

Do you teach the syllabus code 0452?

Cambridge IGCSE Accounting carries the code 0452. Syllabus content and assessment can change between exam years, so tell us the exam year on your school paperwork when you enquire, and check the current syllabus on the Cambridge subject page.

Do you enter me for the exam?

No. We are not an exam centre. Registration, entry, results and access arrangements belong to your school or exam centre and Cambridge. We help you learn and prepare for the syllabus you are entered for.
