Cambridge IGCSE subjects, lessons and practice

With more than twenty subjects on the list, it is easy to lose the one page you came for.

This directory is the starting point for every Cambridge IGCSE subject on the site. Each subject has a learning guide, topic lessons that explain one skill at a time, practice sets with worked answers, and pages for the difficulties students meet most.

Subjects are grouped into families below, so you can move between related subjects such as the sciences or the languages. Pick the subject you are studying rather than the one you think you should be.

If you are not sure which syllabus code or exam year applies to you, start with the syllabus and exam-year navigator. It gives you a checklist for confirming the right code with Cambridge, so you do not study material meant for a different year.

How to use a subject section

  1. Read the learning guide to see how the subject is structured and how to study it.
  2. Choose a topic area and work through its lessons in the order suggested.
  3. Attempt the practice set before reading the answers. Use the routing notes to find which lesson to revisit.
  4. Move to tuition if a topic still does not settle. Every subject has a one-to-one tuition page explaining how the paid one-hour trial works for it.

The cards below list every subject page. For online one-to-one tuition in any of them, or to understand how it works, use the tuition pages.

Questions people ask

How is each subject organised?

Each subject has a learning guide that explains its structure and how to study it, then topic areas with individual lessons and practice sets. Most also have terminology pages and help pages for common difficulties. A tuition page for that subject sits alongside them.

How do I know which syllabus code applies to me?

Use the syllabus and exam-year navigator, then confirm with your teacher or exam centre and the Cambridge subject page. Some subjects have more than one code, and the code for your exam year is the one that matters.

Are the lessons free to read?

Yes. Lessons, practice sets and tools can be read without paying or signing up. One-to-one tuition is a separate paid option for when you want a teacher working through your own questions.
