The trial is a paid, taught one-hour class starting from RM80. The actual rate depends on the assigned teacher and is confirmed with you before the lesson. Ask for it in writing in the WhatsApp conversation, and agree it before your child joins.
“Starting from” describes the lowest rate, not a fixed price for everyone. Confirming the number first means nothing is left to assume.
Why is the rate confirmed per teacher?
Teachers are assigned to each student based on subject and level, and their rates can differ. A fixed figure would misdescribe that. A confirmed figure is exact for your child’s lesson.
This page covers the trial only. It does not describe what lessons after the trial cost, because those arrangements are made directly between your child and the teacher.
What should you ask when you enquire?
Send these four lines on WhatsApp:
- The subject and Cambridge code if you know it.
- Your child’s year and the exam session.
- One sticking point (see how to describe your child’s needs).
- “Please confirm the trial rate before the lesson.”
The reply should name the assigned teacher’s rate for the one-hour trial. If it does not, ask again before making plans.
What to check in the confirmation
| Item | Why check it |
|---|---|
| Amount for the one-hour trial | The exact cost, not the starting figure |
| Date and time | Makes sure your child is free and ready |
| Subject and level | Confirms the teacher matches the request |
| How payment is arranged | Avoids confusion on the day |
If anything differs from what you understood, clarify it before the class.
How does this fit a limited budget?
The trial lets you pay for one hour before deciding about more. Plan for the confirmed amount, not the starting figure, so there is no surprise. If you are choosing between subjects, use the subject priority worksheet to compare what is required, what is a real gap, and what your child wants to work on first.
Decisions about continuing belong to you, your child and the teacher after the trial. Discuss continuation directly with the teacher is covered in a separate guide.
What does the lesson itself look like?
It is a taught class, not a consultation. Bring one question to work through, which the relevance guide explains. Afterwards, decide what evidence would make the trial useful and note it.
The trial page sets out the full format, the parents’ section has related guides, and how it works lists the steps from enquiry to lesson. For terms, see the terms page.
