This tool takes an exact Cambridge entry code and an exam year, then shows the qualification it belongs to, the official Cambridge page, the syllabus PDF we have reviewed for that year, and the learning paths on this site. When it cannot resolve a combination, it says so and gives you a checklist instead.
It is a reference aid. It does not register entries, and it does not need any school login or private document.
How do I use it?
- Pick a subject (optional). This is only a cross-check. If the subject you pick does not match the code you type, the tool tells you and follows the code.
- Type the four-digit code, for example 0580. Your entry slip or your school will have it.
- Enter the exam year, from 2025 to 2030.
- Choose a route (optional): school candidate or private candidate.
- Press Resolve. Press Reset to return to the starting example.
Example walk-through
The tool opens with Business 0450 and 2027 already filled in, because this pair shows why the tool exists. Press Resolve and the result carries a transition check: Cambridge identifies Business 0264 for first assessment in 2027, so a 0450 guide for an earlier series must not be reused for 2027.
Because of that flag, the tool hides the usual list of learning paths and points you to the transition guide instead. It also notes that no syllabus PDF for 0450 is listed in our reviewed references, so you are sent to the official 0450 page to find the current syllabus and addendum.
Now change the code to 0580 and the year to 2026. The profile names Mathematics, links the official page and a syllabus PDF listed for 2025 to 2027, and shows the topic clusters as learning paths. There are no warning flags, so the result is marked as clear.
How do I read the result?
- Profile: the qualification, code and year you entered.
- Official Cambridge page and syllabus PDF: where the facts come from. Always confirm details there, including any syllabus update.
- Flags: anything that needs your attention, such as a code change or an entry restriction.
- Learning paths: the topic clusters on this site for that subject.
- Still to confirm: fields the tool cannot know, such as the exam series, component or tier choices, and whether your centre accepts your route.
Two other flags are worth knowing. For Global Perspectives 0457, private candidates cannot enter in the 2025 to 2027 syllabus, and for later years you should recheck the published rules. For other subjects, choosing private candidate adds a reminder that entry goes through a Cambridge centre.
What are the limits?
The tool only uses codes, years and links we have reviewed. An unknown code such as a mistyped number returns a checking checklist and the Cambridge subject catalogue, never a guessed profile. A year outside 2025 to 2030 is rejected.
It cannot tell you which exam series your school offers. Ask your exam centre, because series availability and registration belong to the centre and Cambridge.
Which lessons explain the output?
Start with the Mathematics learning guide to see how a subject hub is organised, and read the 0580 code, exam-year and route guide for a worked case of a code page. The Mathematics assessment guide explains how to read an assessment route once you know your code. The full list of learning aids is on the tools page.
Once your code is confirmed, our team can plan lessons around it. See online one-to-one Mathematics tuition for how that works.
