How to raise a factual correction

A wrong answer or an outdated exam fact can cost a student time, so we want to hear about it.

On this page
  1. What counts as a correction?
  2. What should you include in your message?
  3. What happens after you report it?
  4. Which exam facts should you always confirm yourself?

If you think a page contains a mistake, send us the details on WhatsApp. We read every report and fix errors we can confirm.

Reports to our team are handled by WhatsApp only. We do not use forms, email or phone calls.

What counts as a correction?

Send us a report if you find any of these:

  • a worked answer or self-check answer that does not match your own working
  • a wrong or unclear step in an explanation
  • a syllabus code, exam year or entry fact that no longer matches the Cambridge page
  • an internal link that leads to the wrong page
  • a Bahasa Melayu or Chinese sentence that changes the meaning of the English

Opinions about teaching style or requests for new topics are welcome too. They are suggestions rather than corrections.

What should you include in your message?

The more specific you are, the faster we can check it. Please include:

  1. the page title
  2. the language version you were reading
  3. the sentence, question or number you think is wrong
  4. your own working, or the source you checked, such as the Cambridge syllabus page

What happens after you report it?

A teacher reads your message and checks the claim against the working or the official source. Numerical answers are recalculated from scratch.

If the page is wrong, we correct it and update the date shown on the page. If the page is right, we explain why, which often helps with the underlying idea. If we cannot confirm an official fact, we rewrite the page to tell readers what to check on the Cambridge page instead of stating it.

We treat errors in answers and exam facts as the first priority.

Which exam facts should you always confirm yourself?

Cambridge changes syllabuses from time to time.

Before you rely on any code, exam year, paper detail or entry rule, check the current Cambridge syllabus page for your subject. Our pages point you to the right place, and the official page is the final word. Your exam centre is responsible for your registration and entries.

To see how pages are written in the first place, read how we research and check content.
