How we research and check our content

When you study from a page, you need to know who wrote it and how it was checked.

On this page
  1. Who writes the pages?
  2. How are lessons and practice sets written?
  3. Where do official facts come from?
  4. What do we leave out?
  5. How are pages kept current?
  6. Who is responsible for what?

Every lesson, practice set, tool page and guide on this site is written by our team of teachers. We write to be useful first: a clear explanation, an original worked example and a way to check your own understanding.

This page explains how that work is done, so you can judge how far to rely on a page.

Who writes the pages?

We are a team of teachers who teach Cambridge IGCSE online, one to one. The pages reflect the explanations, examples and mistakes we meet in lessons. We do not present the content as endorsed by Cambridge.

How are lessons and practice sets written?

Each lesson states the skill, builds the idea step by step, then shows a worked example with every step visible. We add a mistake students commonly make and explain why it goes wrong.

All examples and questions are original. We do not copy past papers, mark schemes or textbooks. Every numerical answer is worked twice before it is published.

Where do official facts come from?

Syllabus codes, exam years and entry rules come from Cambridge’s own pages, and where we cite them the page links to the source. You can start from the subjects we teach and then confirm details on the Cambridge subject page.

Cambridge updates syllabuses, and a code that applies to one exam year may not apply to the next. So we tell you what to check and where, instead of guessing. Paper numbers, durations, weightings, grade thresholds and dates should always be confirmed in the current syllabus.

What do we leave out?

We do not quote pass rates, grade improvements or results for individual subjects. History, Economics and Global Perspectives pages keep fact, source viewpoint and interpretation separate, and we do not give political opinions.

For practical work and coursework, we teach the concepts and the permitted preparation. The work you submit stays your own.

How are pages kept current?

Each page shows an updated date. We review pages when Cambridge publishes syllabus changes, and when a reader or teacher points out an error. If you find something wrong, see how to raise a factual correction.

Who is responsible for what?

We are not an exam centre.

Registration, entries, results and access arrangements are handled by your school or exam centre and by Cambridge. Our pages help you understand and prepare. They do not replace what your centre or Cambridge confirms.

To learn more about the people behind the pages, see our teacher team and service evidence.
