The trial is a paid, taught, one-hour lesson. It is offered from RM80 at the assigned teacher’s confirmed rate, and later arrangements are agreed directly with the teacher afterwards. This builder helps you prepare so the hour is spent on real difficulty and not on working out what to ask.
It turns two sticking points into a time-boxed agenda you can edit, print or download. It is not a booking.
How do you use it?
- Enter your confirmed subject and profile, for example Mathematics 0580 Extended, Year 10.
- Write two sticking points. Be specific: “rearranging a formula when the subject appears twice” helps more than “algebra”.
- Optionally add the teacher’s name, your own notes (a recent mistake pattern, for instance) and the rate. Keep personal details out of the notes.
- If you enter a rate, tick the box only if the teacher has confirmed it to you.
- Press Build agenda from my inputs. Edit any line, add items, then print or download.
How do you read the result?
You get a one-hour plan in five parts. The times are shown in editable boxes, and the page tells you whether the total fits one hour.
The default agenda is 5 minutes for a welcome and goal, 20 minutes for sticking point 1, 20 minutes for sticking point 2, 10 minutes to try a similar question alone while the teacher watches, and 5 minutes to wrap up.
Below the agenda you see a Before the lesson list, a summary and an After the trial note. The rate message depends on what you entered.
Example walk-through
The builder opens with Mathematics 0580 Extended, Year 10, and two sticking points: rearranging a formula when the subject appears twice, and choosing a method in a mixed question. Press build.
The agenda shows 5, 20, 20, 10 and 5 minutes, which totals 60, so the page says it fits one hour. Each sticking point line reads “Show your attempt, say where it stops, then the teacher works through it with you”. That order matters: the teacher sees your real working before explaining anything.
Now change the middle item from 20 to 25 minutes. The total becomes 65 and the page says the agenda is over one hour by 5 minutes, so you adjust another line.
Try the rate box. Leave it blank and the page says the rate is not confirmed yet and shows no amount.
Type 80 without ticking and it treats the rate as not confirmed. Type 80 and tick the box, and it records a rate that the teacher confirmed, noting that payment is arranged directly with the teacher. Type 70 and tick, and it asks you to re-confirm because the figure is below the stated starting point.
What are the assumptions and limits?
- It is not a booking system. Nothing is reserved or sent.
- “From RM80” is a starting point and not a promised uniform rate. The teacher’s confirmed rate is the one that applies.
- With no confirmed rate, the page produces no payment instruction and no fixed RM80 bill.
- The plan is saved nowhere. It exists on the page only, so print or download if you want to keep it.
- Timings are a suggestion. A teacher may reshape the hour to suit what you show.
Which lessons explain the trial?
Start with what from RM80 per hour does and does not mean and confirm the assigned teacher rate before the one-hour trial. The paid one-hour trial page sets out the terms, and how experienced teachers are assigned explains who you will meet.
To sharpen your sticking points, use prepare one specific question before an online class and explain where my working stopped. Questions to prepare for a paid tuition lesson gives a template, and reflect on whether the lesson left room for questions helps afterwards.
If you are unsure tuition adds anything beyond school, read what to ask school and what to discuss in individual tuition and prepare a trial question that tests relevance. For younger students, prepare a learning discussion with the responsible adult helps.
