These questions mix the five lessons of Chinese qualification identification. Every person, slip and passage is invented and labelled.
They run from reading an entry to planning a week of practice. Write your answer first, then open the explanation. Log slips in the mistake log and retest queue and use the summary selection studio once your own route is confirmed.
Questions
1. (Easy) An invented slip reads: 科目:华文 代码:0523. Which Cambridge title matches the code?
Show answer
0523 is Second Language Chinese. The code, not the word 华文, identifies the qualification.2. (Easy) A fictional student says “I do Chinese” and cannot find any paper. What should she ask her exam centre for?
Show answer
The syllabus code, the exam series and the year, in writing. Without a code, three different qualifications could fit her description.3. (Easy) A website offers a model labelled 0509, 2021. The student is entered for 0509, 2027. Which label already matches, and which needs checking?
Show answer
The code matches. The year does not match, so the student must check the 2027 syllabus before treating the model as a target.4. (Medium) Complete the sentence in the invented note and explain it: “我的同学家里讲华语,所以他一定考 0509。”
Show answer
The claim assumes a route from home language. Entry is confirmed by the centre, so the note should say "我得看他的报名单才知道。" Home language is not evidence.5. (Medium) Name three items to put on a script and response checklist and where each is read.
Show answer
For example: script (syllabus and paper instructions), response language (paper instructions), word limit (question paper). Note the page of each source.6. (Medium) A friend sitting 0547 says “pinyin is allowed in answers, I read it.” You sit 0523. May you rely on this?
Show answer
No. Rules belong to each qualification. Check your own syllabus and paper before relying on any friend's statement.7. (Medium) Sort into fits, unconfirmed or other route for a student confirmed as 0523, 2027: (a) 0523, 2027 task; (b) unlabelled worksheet; (c) 0509, 2027 essay; (d) 0523, no year.
Show answer
(a) fits. (b) unconfirmed. (c) other route, reading only. (d) unconfirmed until the year is checked.8. (Harder) Read this invented dialogue and say which line gives usable evidence: 甲:你看起来像考第一语文的。乙:我报名单上写 0509。
Show answer
Only 乙's line, because it points to a written entry. 甲 judges from appearance, which is not evidence of any registration.9. (Harder) A learner wants to switch route because a cousin did. Who should the learner talk to first, and what should be asked?
Show answer
The exam centre, early. Ask which codes it offers, what is needed to change an entry, and by when. The cousin's experience does not set the learner's options.10. (Harder) Plan one week for a student confirmed as 0547, 2027, with four items: a labelled 0547 task, a 0509 essay, an unlabelled sheet, and a 0547 task with no year.
Show answer
Do the labelled 0547 task after checking its year. Read the 0509 essay as extra reading only. Hold the unlabelled sheet and the no-year task until each is confirmed. Log any slip in the mistake log.If you got these wrong
